Winselmutter is going to release a new EP soon. I've been cured of my mental ailments. I have a reason to live again.
I'M BEING OVERDRAMATIC. But seriously.
I woke up this morning expecting a normal (albeit dreadful) day, just to see 2 emails in my inbox.. Which was weird. I'm not used to getting many emails, and when I do, it's just Bandcamp informing me about this unrelated band's blogposts.
And, well. I was right. One of them WAS the unrelated band's blogposts. But the other one was titled NEW RELEASE FROM WINSELMUTTER?? I JUMPED IN MY SEAT AND SCREAMED. And by scream I mean I whisper-shouted "WHAT!!!" because it's 7 in the fucking morning and I don't want to get yelled at just yet.
I was going to pass out and die on the spot istg. Like. NOW??? AT THIS TIME OF YEAR??? (What amI saying. It's literally January I'm . Goung Insane) A WHOLE ASS ALBUM?!??
...Obviously it wasn't a whole ass album, but I'm still really happy. It was the first song for their EP that's going to fully release soon! WHICH I'M SO EXCITED FOR, YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
The song in question is called Bloodmoon Witchery. It can have my heart, my soul, my mind, and all my earthly possessions. I'm going to calm down now I'm sorry
I don't know how to review music like a normal, articulate human being. But I will try. Just a bit. For the new EP.
I can clearly hear that the band's refining their sound more.. The production has increased to some extent and holy SHIT I can hear everything-- the instruments vocals, and it's all so beautiful <3 <3 <3
The instrumental is so clear, sharp, and less echo-y, but just as frantic-sounding as before. Their debut album was like looking through frosted glass (amazing in its own right, sometimes the most wonderful things are just outside of 20/20 vision), but this new song in particular is as visible as a seizure-inducing LED light. I REALLY LIKE IT!!!
I don't know what else to say.. It sounds like panes and panes of glass being broken in with a mallet and shattering everywhere into a million pieces. I love it.
